Primarily used for lifting materials, personnel, and equipment in vertical shafts of coal mines, metal mines, and non-metallic mines. As mine depths and production levels continue to increase, the diameter of hoisting steel ropes has grown significantly. Building on the single-rope winding hoist system, engineers have developed a new type of multi-rope friction hoist that uses multiple steel ropes instead of just one, offering enhanced efficiency and safety.

The principle of a multi-rope friction hoist:

Friction hoisting, as the name suggests, relies on frictional force to lift heavy objects. In terms of its working principle, it differs significantly from winding hoisting: instead of being wound around a drum, the steel wire rope is draped over a friction wheel, with lifting containers suspended at both ends. The rope is moved by the friction generated between the friction wheel's specially designed lining and the steel cable, enabling the containers to ascend or descend and thus accomplishing the task of lifting or lowering heavy loads. Currently, as users increasingly demand faster overall shaft construction project timelines, more and more are opting for floor-mounted multi-rope friction hoists.

  The braking system ensures the safe operation of the hoist. An essential component of the system. In emergency situations, the braking system should generate two-stage safety braking via a hydraulic system with adjustable braking torque, ensuring the hoist stops promptly without causing abrupt or excessive braking. For hoists driven by AC motors, the braking system must also feature highly responsive, continuously adjustable braking torque capabilities, enabling precise control of the hoist's speed as it approaches the stopping point.
